Hot news for road damage repair

Westmorland and Furness Council take pro-active approach to keeping our roads open.

Published: 25 August 2024

On Thursday 23rd August W&F Council released a statement detailing the council reaction too storm and flooding damage to our roads. We are very used to this kind of damage and disruption, caused by weather, in the Garsdale valley and often fallen trees are shifted by public spirited residents. Flooding and caused by storms and blocked gulleys have not been so easy to deal with so the Council statement is very welcome indeed.

Below I attach the W&F contact details for Garsdale residents to use when these emergencies arise. As they surely will over this coming winter.

To report an emergency on our roads, please call our Highways Hotline on 0300 373 3300.

For anything else, we encourage you to use our online reporting form on westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk to free up our phonelines for those that need it the most.

We’re on standby ready to keep you safe and moving.
